Hello,
First time we arrived to Corsica in 2007 for the Corsican Traverse, we landed to Bastia airport, P.M. on a Sunday, and there was a shuttle bus into Bastia.....got the impression that this was every half hour?....can get you very close to the station for the ride round to Calvi, although the train wasn't until around 1830...think that this was the only one running on Sunday. Used the shuttle bus this year too (Monday) after returning a motor to the airport which we picked up in Ajaccio after our trip across the island.
That 2007 trip to the island was the easiest, for us, regarding transport arrangements...at that time we had available a connection at Heathrow and then a direct flight to Bastia. Subsequent trips have been less 'flowing' with overnights having to be taken in Nice and Bastia. But I guess that allows for further knowledge to be absorbed regarding the Meditterranean towns.

Lisa
Thanks for your update on the shuttle between Airport and town, we are heading south once we get into Bastia town to walk the GR 20 south to north.

Lisa,

When we took the Saint Lucie de Porto Vecchio bus to Bastia I clearly remember it made a stop at the airport junction (the airport being very close to the main road). You may want to find out if it's more convenient for you to try and catch the bus on its way to Porto Vecchio at said junction.

Just a thought
