GR20 in Nov1-18?

Is it possible to hike the GR20 in November 1-18? I have good equipment (-10C Bag + GTX) and am not afraid of rain. Snow would be a problem. Not having a place to sleep would be impossible (I have a tent, if there is a place for me to set it up).

Thank you--Dylan

Hello Dylan,

Please read my article GR 20 in April, May and November. It should answer your questions.

Marek--Thank you!

Since the refuges will be open, do you think I need to carry a tent? I will need to carry a stove with enough petrol to last many km.

The weather will be a lottery, but I feel lucky. I have much reading on your excellent website.

I will be taking a ferry from Nice to Calvi and then trekking to the south. I fly out of Olbia 15-days later, so there is little time to waste.

Cheers-Dylan

Hi Dylan!

You needn't a tent unless you are planning to use it on a beach right after your arrival or before your departure, but if you have 15 days only, you probably won't spend much time outside the GR20.

I'd be happy if you could post a short report once you are back at home from the trek.

Have a nice trip!
