Late October on GR20

I am thinking about doing part of the GR20 next year in late October. Will there be any limitations in acccomodation? I will only have one week to get there and back to the UK. Can anyone suggest the best route for the days available.

October is already quite cold -- from 10°C to 20°C on average, less in the mountains and even below zero in the nights. See climate overview for more details. Refuges along the GR20 will be already unguarded in October. That means you will have to carry all food and cooking equipment.

If you want to experience the GR20 and have no other choice but late October, consider making your base camp in Corte and doing one-day or at most two-day trips from there -- Lac de Nino, Melo and Capitello Lakes, Monte Rotondo, Monte d'Oro or Monte Renoso.
