Hi,
I have read, that it´s not welcome to camp outside the areas because that the refugee owners trying to make a living.
So when you pay - and stay - in the camping area, you not just pay for the stay, you also contribute to maintain the GR20 and the high quality of if. Not just for your sake, but for all traveling later after you.

OMG,
GR20 is maintained by "Park Naturel de Corse". Wasting money paying for a "camping grass" has no connection with GR20 quality. But anyway thanks for reply.

Anyone else have some usefull tips for camping outside refuges areas?

Thanks

John,
Camping outside the refuges areas is strictly prohibited, I believe the main reason is that a lot of fires have been started by campers in the past. If you intend to camp outside designated areas you can risk some fine, the fact you don't see a lot of park guards does not metter, today GR20, as in every other natural atraction of the world has became a businness... there are a lot of organized groups with Mountain guides from PRNC, and they act like controllers... it's up to you.
good luck
