What do you think? It´s pure madness to hike there alone. Or do you think, that August is so crowded that it doesn´t matter? :)

Hiking the GR 20 alone should be safe enough in July or August, if you follow the basic route.

I did the northern part alone last September and found that you meet many people along the way and at the refuges. August will be busy so you should have lots of company. I joined up with another solo hiker to cross the cirque just to be safe. You shouldn't have any problem.
