We carried some food eg oatcakes muesli energy bars. The best advice we had was that you can post a parcel of food supplies, from any train station in Corsica to Vizzavona station where they will hold it for your arrival. Just great to pick up known supplies half way through.

Or, you can just buy the same supplies in Vizzavona, spares you the hussle with the train.

This look like good idea. Does it really (still) work? Does anyone has an experience with sending parcell by train to Vizavona? According to info I managed to found, there are no many things you can buy in Vizavonna...

The tiny shop at Vizzavona sells only basic stuff and it's a bit overpriced; better go down a few miles by car or train to Vivario or Bocognano if in need of groceries...

The sending of parcels is possible and some companies use it daily, for example to deliver fresh stuff to restaurants... However someone has to be physically there to pick up the parcel: for safety reasons train stations are no longer allowed to store luggage and parcels (that's also why baggage lockers are unavailable).

Thank you for answer. Grocery shopping in Bocognano is a good idea. Train conection to Bocognano isn´t very frequent, but it seems to be possible to do trip in afternoon after completing walk from Capanelle to Vizzavona. What openning hours should I expect in groceries in Bocognano?

3 to 5 trains a day is quite a lot for a tiny island with almost no inhabitants for 9 months a year... ;)

Bocognano has bakeries, a butcher's and some cafés, all selling some local delicacies too; during the touristic months it should be open daily, am&pm. Your best bet is to go there in the late afternoon, and before 12pm on sundays. Vivario as a bigger town has two real grocer's shops (with varied stuff...) but lies farther away from Vizzavona (20 mn by train, 1h20 by foot)
