We are walking the Mare e monti in September this year and having trouble finding a route from Corsica to Athens. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Well ... ferry Bastia-Livorno, train from Livorno to Brindisi, ferry Brindisi-Patras and bus Patras-Athens.

A quick check on skyscanner gives theimpression you can't avoid to change the plane twice, and need a whole day for the pleasure!

Hello,
Assuming that Mare e Monti N. is being walked from Calinzana-Cargese....you might have to 'build in' some extra time to getting from Cargese to Calvi. We found, that finishing Mare a Mare N. which also finishes at Cargese that the bus that we thought went direct to Calvi terminated at Porto so it meant staying in Porto overnight to travel by another bus to Calvi the following day...and then of course you will have train from Calvi to Bastia.
Now this was a few years ago, in June, so maybe things are different now!
But maybe you aware of this already?
