Hi there.

Anyone with experience of the Tra Mare E Monti Nord in January?

I am considering doing it end of December and beginning January 2015 but I don't know if the Gites are open? Alternatively I will bring my own tent and food.

Have previously done the GR20 in July and August and the Mare a Mare as well in August..

Thanks for any helpful advise in advance :-)

Hello,
I've just had a look at the French 'Entre mer et montagne' guide (I bought this in 2008) for Corse which covers all the routes on the island apart from the GR20.
It does say that the gites are open from 15th, April - 15th, October.
There are phone numbers for each stage gite on the hebergements page.
If you can give me a e mail address I could sent a copy of this page.
We travelled the route and the two southern ones in one trip in 2009 but that was in June when we found that camping was possible in all the places that we wanted to stay apart from Serriera.
Although must say that in a few places we camped on the rear terrace of the gite...but in January these wouldn't be available. Also in Evisa the camping site Acciola would most certainly be closed.
