**New** Petrapiana hut?

It looks exactly the same design as the old one, which was in pretty poor condition last September.

Could they have just stuck a new roof and some new wall panels on the old one ?

In the great scheme of renewing/renovating most of the GR20 refuges I wonder if this is all that Petra Piana gets?...an external makeover.
I have never been inside the refuge it all looked a bit gloomy and extremely over crowded and all the facilities that I used were well away from the refuge.....I found the camping pleasant at PP since there were several aspects to the pitches so we campers were reasonably spread out.

Yes, I came to the same conclusions about just an external makeover. That's why I asked if anyone had seen it inside after the renovation. I hope they won't just stop at that because the toilet block needed an urgent and total renovation too. In fact according to their improvement projects http://tinyurl.com/gr20-improvements the whole PietraPiana compound should be rebuilt from the ground up. We'll see ....
