Hello everyone.
Just got back from Corsica having walked the L'lle Rousse- Corte trail.
The path is clear, with a lot of fresh balisage and new signboards on the individual stages.
The route is very quiet. I met only one couple on the trail, at Bergerie Cabane, until I reached A Sega.
Steve.

Hello,
Good to know of an enjoyable walk away from the crowds.:-)
I guess that you must worked your way to the Calacuccia area prior to reaching the fabulous Tavignano gorge before reaching Corte?

Yes Gaffr, that's exactly what I did.
On arriving in Corscia I found the gite d'etape closed (no suprises there). One of the local residents told me it was closed permanently. The place did look in a pretty sorry state.
I then took the mixture of road and trail down to Cuccia, then onward to Calacuccia. Overnight at the Hotel des Touristes. They do gite d'etape acommadation but I opted for a room in the hotel (40eu).
Next morning I retraced my steps to Cuccia, took the D84 as far as the foot bridge, then up to the Bocca di Conia via the bergerie Ciarreta. From there, along the tops to pick up the Mare a Mare Nord at the Bocca a l'Arinella and finally , down to A Sega.
