Hi, has anyone got a good insurance company recommendation? The BMC will insure but you have to be a member. Most companies seem to only cover up to 2000m.

Any tips greatly appreciated. We are heading out on the 19th June so hopefully see some of you on the trail.

Up to 6000m I believe. Membership including insurance is about 60 euros per year and you can get it instantly.

Can people of any nationality avail of that insurance? I am Irish . . .

Thanks

To my knowledge there are no nationality restrictions. Insurance terms and membership benefits are on website.

Hello,
When we used to go to the Alps the BMC insurance covered you but you did have to take out the annual membership card as was said earlier.
For Corse we didn't have any insurance apart from the annual travel insurance and the European medical card.
I may be wrong here but I think, never have tested this, the French Police? helicopter service maybe will extract you if you have a major problem as part of the Euro medical card arrangement?

Nowadays the BMC have several policies. Could the one for trekking be useful on Corsica?
