Get a prepaid data SIM card

Is there any place in Bastia-Poretta airport or Conca to get a prepaid data SIM card to have internet connection during the GR20 trail? How strong is the 3G coverage in the GR20?

Thanks in advance,

Oriol Ciurana

Hi Oriol,

Sorry but we don't have much information about it. I suggest you should look into this type of sim card:

The 3G coverage on the mountains varies obviously from place to place. You may place phone calls but I'm not sure if you can use the Internet everywhere because data connections need to be strong. However if you keep trying you'll certainly find places where it's possible to surf the web.

Thank you Michele.

I have looked for the WorldSim but seems to be very expensive for data (about $12 for only 100MB).

7 weeks ago I asked for a Lebara prepaid data SIM card ( which has very cheap rates but unfortunately I haven't recieved it yet (I live in Spain so maybe the shippment has been lost or is very slow) and now I'm looking for an alternative. I arrive in Corsica the next tuesday so time is very short.

Perhaps the best way is to buy a prepaid data SIM card directly in Corsica, so my first question still remains open. It would be very useful for me if someone know any place where I can buy one.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I see Lebara costs 19 cents / 1Mb which translates 19 euros /100 Mb. So worldsim only const you 12 euros / 100Mb or maybe my math is wrong?

Your math is OK, but Lebara has some 30 day internet forfaits and you can get 1GB for 9.99€:

That Internet Bundle 1Gb seems really interesting. Too bad they don't deliver the sim outside France!!!

In the past I found a hiking forum with a link to a Lebara webpage that allows SIM shippings outside France, but I cannot find it again. This webpage was the one I used 7 weeks ago but seems that with no luck.

Lebara has also pages for other countries, Spain included (, but if I'm right the prices and offers only apply to the origin country :(

If I don't receive any suggestion or better alternative before tomorrow, I think the only way to go is to ask for a SIM and put the "Gîte La Tonnelle (Conca)" as destination, the place where I will sleep the first night. Not sure if it will arrive on time... I'll keep fingers crossed :D

from what I understand Lebara delivers in continental France only.
