Hi Hugh, you can buy IGN maps for the Mare a Mare Nord online from Amazon or Stanfords Bookshop:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_pg_1?rh=n%3A266239%2Ck%3Aign+corsica&k...

http://www.stanfords.co.uk/walking-maps-atlases?q=&ExistingSearchID=5767...

I'm going from Cargese to Corte beginning the 6th September and found the IGN Corsica North-West 1:60,000 and 1:75,000 both display the route well. If you're doing the whole route you'll obviously need an additional map.

One other tip is that if you're bringing a smartphone you can download the 'Geoportail' app - http://www.geoportail.gouv.fr/accueil (app links on the right) which covers Corsica IGN in a multitude of scales - though that's obviously internet dependent!

Good luck,

Andy

thanks Andy , it looks like the Corsica North 1:60000 map covers just about the whole route apart from maybe day 1 from Moriani

Hello,
Are you sure that there is a bus service in the middle of September on a Sunday?
When we went down to Moriani by bus for the MM Nord it was in June and on a week-day.
The Blue Gas (pierce-able can) system we purchased from a filling station in Moriani.
From the Tourist Information shop in Moriani ( used by us on all of the routes in Corse ) we bought a Topoguide for the route which does include five routes on the island...Corse Entre mer et montagne....Grande Randonnee...FF Randonnee. It is in French but the stage maps and stage information etc. contained within are useful.

The 1:100,000 No. 175 Bastia - Corte IGN. has the entire route marked.

Also the Walking in Corsica guide. Cicerone by Gillian Price has route description of MM Nord and simple maps of the route although she did the route in reverse Cargese to Moriani.
