Mare e Monte accommodation

I did the GR20 a few years back, sleeping in the pre-pitched tents at the gîtes en route. Is that an option on the Mare e Monte, or do I need to carry my own tent? If it’s the latter, do I need to book a pitch?

I’m going last minute in July - any help is much appreciated!

Hi GT.
I walked the Tra Mare e Monti a few years ago,( May 2015) carrying and using my own tent, I don't recall seeing any pre-pitched shelters. Of the few other hikers on the trail most were using the gite d'etapes, only a couple of others pitching their own tents so you should be fine to just turn up.
One thing though, it's July, it's going to be HOT!

Hello.... We went by way of the mare e monti nord back in 2009...using our own tent we camped at Calenzana, Bonifatu, Galeria, Girolata.... At a couple of other villages with Gites we camped in the 'backyards' but that was dependent of buying an evening meal.
campsite in Evisa and we camped beside the wee gite at E Case.

... and, to answer the opening post, along the TMM campsites and other gites don't rent tents. Bring your own, or sleep indoors.

(oh and beware of mosquitoes, nights turn to nightmares in summer at such low altitudes)
