Hallo I am staying two nights in Corte - I used to be a long distance walker but due to arthritis those days are gone - I can now walk for about three hours - but I am committed to travelling without a car - suggestions please for a walk - either using public transport to get to the start point or walking from the station

Take one of the (mini)buses from Corte to the Restonica valley: it's crowded in the summer but from there, the short (1 hr), easy walk to the Melu lake is a classic.

A slightly longer, more physical alternative is the walk up to the "Russulinu" bridge on the Tavignanu river (the footpath starts west of the Corte Fortress). That's 3 to 4 hours round trip on a good path.

Thank you that's very helpful - do you know where I can find out about the mini buses (running in September)?

Search on google with keywords such as "bus" "restonica" and you'll find the info ;)
