Hi Marek

I'm planning to walk the GR20 in June/July 2007. Is it necessary to take a camping stove so that you can cook your own food? Or can you get all the food you need without cooking?

If you need a stove, is it easy to find gas/methylated sprits along the way? Since, obviously, you are not allowed to take these things on an aircraft.

Mike,

Basic cooking facilities are available in the refuges, you may wait quite long though, especially in high season (July-August). As far as I know, refuges do not sell gas cartridges, but you can buy them in larger towns and villages (Calvi, Calenzana, Castel di Verghio, Vizzavona, Bavella).

Most refuges offer food, so you needn't cook at all, if you don't want to.

'Most refuges offer food' means how many and which ones exactly?
Great job on the site
