GR20 in 14 days

hi there,
just got back from completing the GR20 myself and a double stage is the only option for shortening the trek (other than to duck out early). i walked south to north rather than the usual north to south so the double stages we did may not be as suitable if walking north to south. There are two double stages i would recommend that you consider though and they are;
Northern Section: Hotel Castel Di Vergio through to Refuge Petra Piana which is 27km
or
Southern Section: Vizzavona to Bocca Di Verdi which is 30km when using the low level variants.
Both are arguably easy days walking regardless of the distance as gradients are traversed on zigzag slopes etc and there is a fair amount of flat woodland walking. Hope this is useful, if you dont like the look of these let me know and I can tell you about the other doubles we did.

If you are going north to south, I recommend doubling up on the last two stages in the north. That is, go from Petra Piana to Vizzavona, skipping l'Onda. The high route (variante) is shorter and saves some elevation, but the low route (official GR20) is also possible (only 22 km).
I think the idea of doubling up on the Vizzavona-Capanelle-Verdi stages is also a good suggestion.
Many people also go from Carozzu to Tighjettu, skipping Haut Asco (following the old GR20 route before it was diverted to Haut Asco). Make sure you look at a map before you do this so you can stay high instead of going down to Haut Asco.
