Hi,

I am try to gather some info regarding accommodations and meals along GR20. Which hotels are recommended, which refugees have a bedbugs, where meals are tasty and where aren’t, in short everything. I know that this info changes every year (or even every week when bedbugs migrated from one place to another). Anyway, it will be interesting to hear your comments and opinions.

Please don’t skip Calvi and Bastia too. We will start and end our journey there.

Thanks in advance,
Mark.

I got really badly bitten by bedbugs in the refuge at Bergeries de Capanelle (I was in the PRNC refuge rather than the main refuge) this August but as you say the situation can change from week to week.

I stayed at Imperial in Bastia - all good. Nice friendly Patron.

Had my platypus mouthpiece eaten by rodents at Bocca di Verdi!.

Best place to stay on my trek was Bergeries 'd'Asinau. Interesting hot shower comfy bed great food and very nice people - not to mention Op OP their lovely Whippet.

Didn't encounter bed bugs anywhere but do remember ear plugs if sleeping in refuges.

Poor meal for 19 euro at Petra Pania.

Didn't book anything in advance. No problems

If you want to save the trouble, there are a few local companies in Corsica handling the GR20. I recommend you that one: www.gr20.co.uk ; they do handle your transfers from and to any place in Corsica if you need it. And if you want to organize yourself your own trip, have a look at their proposal, they are skipping the "bad" places on the GR20 to make sure their clients are satisfied.
Have a great walk!

I am planning a trip in early June 10 and looking to reserve camping spaces for 3 tents. Does anyone now how to access the booking of these from this end? I know that it was introduced in 2009, but am wondering how successful this was.

Thanks

Not very successful. Very few people (including refuge wardens ) bothered. If camping I suggest you forget all about it - until you learn otherwise.

Hi - i just noticed that the booking website is now operational. Am planning on doing the GR20 from June12th with 4 others. We are planning on camping - do you think it's necessary to book camping sites - given that we might need impromptu / weather enforced rest days - so the chances are that the schedule of stages might need to be a little flexible!

Thanks
