Climbing the Cirque de la Solitude

Hi,
Should I bring security ropes, hooks, and a helmet in order to climb the
Cirque de la Solitude or other parts of the G20?
Or is it ok just using my own hands?
You said that it is " a steep and challenging part of the 4th stage, where
hikers have to climb using the chains bolted to the rock".

Thank you very much for the information!

Nico.

Hi Nico,

If you are going to do the GR20 in summer, you needn't bring ropes etc. The route is secured with chains and ladders in dangerous places including the Cirque de la Solitude. You may also check out an interesting report about the Cirque by Sally from Norfolk.

Have a nice trip,

Marek

Hi Nico,
There is no need to carry extra climbing gear. The GR 20 is tough but ment for everyone. The clue for you is to carry light and make the traverse on a clear day, to enjoy the passage.
