Hi there!

I am planning to attempt the GR20 with my nine year old son. We will be two adults in good physical fitness and of course my son will not be carrying much weight apart from his drinking water each day.
We are prepared to slow down, alter or even abandon the route if it is too much for him although he is in fine health and remarkably hardy for his age. I am hoping it will be a tough but rewarding experience and challenge for him.

If anyone has done the GR20 with children or has any advice it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Kat

Hi Kat,

I must admit first, that I was in the Corsican mountains with my 18 years old daughter only -- well, not a child yet, so I can't offer you my personal experience. I'd guess though that the main problem will be your concern about your son. GR20 contains parts that are quite dangerous, or at least look so. As a parent, I'd be in constant fear that my child can make a false move anytime and fall down to depth.

Otherwise I believe your boy will do the GR20 like a breeze. Walking up and down in the mountains tends to be easier for children than for adults.
