I am trying to find out how to reserve the refuges for the GR 20 (late August). Does anyone know how it is done? I cannot seem to find any telephone numbers or websites.
Thank you for any advice!

In theory yes, in practice no. The park officials have brought in a compulsory reservation system which is unworkable and with which the refuge guardians disagree. They are not going to turn people away who do not have reservations ( I hope).

Last year, during September, the guardian didn't have any clue on how many reservations were made every day. We didn't have reservation. As a result we had to wait for the late evening before the guardian let us sleep inside the refuge.

If you want to make sure if sleep in a refuge - book in advnace. The down side is that you have to stick to your plan - it's harder to double a section that way.

The guardian also have tents for rent so if you take the risk of not having room you can rent.
Cost for two sleepers in a rented tent costs same as the cost for two in the refuge

No problem until you get behind schedule due to bad weather.
