my girlfriend and i planned to walk the GR20 sept'07. we're curouis about the rainy days in september. Are those showers long (several hours) and mild or just heavy short late afternoon showers? taking fully GTX of just a rainponcho? it's also influences the choise between tarp or tent. we want to pack light because of the amount of food for the first stages.

is there a little supermarket in Vizzavona wich sells good light packable food for filling our packs for the last stages (travelling south)? i don't expect freeze dried meals but anything not in glass bottles, etc.

anybody good suggestions??

Hi Hans!

There are 6 days with rain on average in September, perhaps a bit more in the mountains. Corsican rains tend to be rather short and heavy. Short storms are common in the mountains. A rain poncho should be OK.

There is a grocery in Vizzavona. The closest large supermarket is in Corte.

You should be able to buy fuel in Corsica, but if you can, look for it in a bigger town like Bastia, Corte or Calvi.
