GR20 in 2 weeks stright, is this possible???
Hi, we've got our flights booked sun 16th of sept to sun 30th of sept both from Calvi airport. the question is, will it be possible to blast the whole GR20 and get back in time for our filight? we looked at the route and think we can maybe squeeze the 15 stages into 13, and maybe finish in Bavella rather than conca, but as we've heard that transport is bad on the island, we are very nervous about being able to get back to Calvi airport in time ofr out return flight?
has anyone done this or can suggest whether it is doable?
has anyone got links to up to date train and bus timetables?
Any other advice would be much appreciated!
thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike,
Either the 7th or the 8th stage is sometimes doubled up, i.e. you can go either from Manganu to Onda or from Pietra Piana to Vizzavona in one day. On the southern part you can double up the 10th or 11th stage (i.e. Vizzavona-Prati or Capanelle-Usciolu).
Public transport from Bavella back to Calvi is pretty complex. You would have to use the bus to Porto Vecchio, spend a night there and then continue by another bus to Bastia and yet another one (or train) to Calvi.
Doing just the northern part would be much easier and quite rewarding as well. You may also consider to combine GR20 with the Sentier de la Transhumance and the Mare a Mare Nord (or Sentier Ile Rousse - Corte), and end your trek in Corte after some 7-10 days. Then you can go back by train to Calvi and spend last couple of days on its beaches.
