A great tip given to us was when you arrive in the north or South you can post a parcel of food/maps etc, via a train station to await you at Vizzavone station. A 3.5kg parcel cost us 9 euros. We collected it sat 7.30pm they have long opening hours. We like to support the local economy but it was great to have the cereal, energy bars and dried food that we like.

Yes, the train seems to very reliable for posting packages. My wife, decided, when at Haut Ascu, to sent a few items that she didn't want to carry any further,:) back to Bastia. The lady at the shop somehow got them to the station at Ponte Leccia for her. At the end of the trip, when we got back to Bastia by bus, the package was waiting for her at the station. I would say that folks on the island are very relaible with such things. Also at the final stopover at the gite at Cartalavonu (M.M. Sud) we had run out of cash for the meal....with no facitily for the credit card... we were told to put the cash into an envelope and leave it at the camping site office, where we were going to stay for a couple of nights, in Porto Vecchio.
