Two faces of Punta Mortella
The tower of Punta Mortella has two faces. From one side it's quite well preserved so they can guess, how it looked in the past. The other side is collapsed and shows the thickness and texture of its walls. The tower is 17.5 meters high, with diameter of 19 m (before its part collapsed), and its walls are 4 meters thick.
It's an amazing structure worth to see with its beautiful surroundings -- the Gulf of Saint Florent and the mountains on the Cape Corse beyond.
The photo was taken in April 2006.
